Jon Boat Rebuild
This will be a Boat REPAIR Series on Restoring this Boat
This boat is a 1558 Polar Kraft Jon Boat. This boat was crashed somehow, and I would suspect that it was rolled off the trailer and crashed into a gaurd rail or something like that. This boat crash did a bunch of damage but I think it will be something we can repair. You tell me is this boat repairable? I was lucky enough to find this boat local to me and that was a huge blessing. Our son has been looking for a good bass boat to go out on in the evening and afternoons so we have been looking for a nice project boat that didn't break the bank. This Boat checked all the boxes, Cheap Boat, Aluminum Boat, Low HP and most of all newer four stroke Mercury. The boat is a 2015 and has been sitting since 2016 as that is when the boat was wrecked. My First Review of the damaged boat found that the engine took a decent impact as well, @Knottsqmw and I took the boat apart and straighten the lower unit drive shaft which took a fair amount of time. After we fixed the lower unit we went to eyeing the hull to determine if it was indeed repairable or needed to go to the scrap yard, and I think this boat will be able to be resurrected.
This video we will try and show you how to repair an Aluminum Jon Boat and build a boat the way you want it. I believe we will convert this boat to a Center Console style boat instead of the side console it is at the moment, this will be decided later as of now I still don't have that answer.
