I Screwed Up!! Sunk Boat Rebuild
This is a little project boat I have been looking for to tinker with in-between working on the broken pilot house boat and a couple other projects I have in the works. This has been a nice easy boat rebuild, so far I have completed replacing about 80% of the wiring in the boat, new switches, switch panel, and fuse, and ground blocks. This isn't quite a Boatronics lever wiring job, but it does do the trick. In this video I take this boat that completely submerged and get it back to running condition. Things to think about when buying a sunk boat is how long it was underwater and if the people pickled the engine fast enough to save the internal components. I was lucky in this one and it appears all the water tight connections did their job and showed no signs of corrosion. Only signs I seen of corrosion was in the trim switch and that is why I showed how to repair a tilt and trim switch on this Suzuki outboard. Also one of the items that failed due to the salt water was the trim tab switch. These are Lenco Trim tabs and are the old version that has the control box, the new style have the control panel built into the switches. This boat never made it to the salvage auction as the Customer Owner retained the boat, so it never made it to copart boat auction.
I would like to give a huge thanks to the @Nauticalbros they hooked me up with a super custom fully carbon fiber switch panel for the boat as the old panel was super corroded from going underwater.
For this boat resurrection project I wanted to be in the boat for as little as possible, but still have a good dependable boat and help wash away the stigma people sometimes get when they hear of someone selling a flooded boat, its not something you have to be fearful of if it was pickled fast, and wasn't underwater for days on end. Matter of fact majority of all connections I unplugged from the engine were dry as a bone and needed no servicing.
Also big thanks to @outdoorswithhunterwright3944 for helping the last several nights getting tools and running wires to get this project busted out as fast as possible. We had this boat up and running in 4 days.
