In this video I go over what I learnt after having one of my side projects go viral. I share some tips to potentially increase the visibility of your projects.
Tip #1 - Products should resonate with users
Take a niche. Look into the problems faced by people in this niche. Try to solve some of them. This is so effective that you can even create a wrapper for an existing solution. This is exactly what prompts achieves. I didn't remake a subreddit, I just made it more accessible.
Tip #2 - Keep it minimal
Do one thing and do it well. If doesnt matter if your app is really simple in terms of the code or the technology you use. The question you need to ask yourself is whether the users will care about the underlying machinery or not. As long as the answer is no, even a simple api call can be revolutionary.
Tip #3 - Design and aesthetics matters the most
The design and asesthetics matters a lot. Maybe even more so than the functionality. Now this can be a bit more tricky. If you're anything like me, you will have a really hard time trying to settle on a certain style of UI. And even this can only be acquired after working on a couple of different projects. As the saying goes, good artists copy, great artists steal.
