Nepal Rainfall 2081 - Heaviest Rainfall in 60 Years History
Nepal recently faced devastating floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall, causing significant loss of life and infrastructure damage, particularly around Ashoj 11–12. Despite red alerts issued by the Meteorological Department for 56 districts, the government's slow response and lack of preparedness worsened the situation. Poor urban planning along riverbanks, overuse of bulldozers for unsustainable road construction, and delayed rescue operations contributed to the crisis. The Kulekhani Dam incident, where gates were opened too late, further escalated the damage. To prevent future disasters, Nepal must enforce construction regulations, improve river management, and prioritize timely disaster preparedness. #nepalrain #kathmandu
