Britannia telah menginvasi hampir seluruh dunia dengan menggunakan teknologi yang bernama Knightmare Frame. Akhirnya, para warga Jepang kehilangan hak, harga diri, kebebasan, bahkan nama mereka. Semua warga Jepang tidak boleh memakai nama Jepang. Oleh Britannia, orang Jepang disebut Eleven, dan Jepang dinamakan Area 11
