Former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, a suspect in the fake diploma allegation case, responded to Taufik Bilfaqih, the Executive Chairman of the Indonesian YouTuber group Nusantara, who reported him to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) for allegedly possessing a fake diploma from Yamaguchi University, Japan. Rismon stated that he fully respects the legal rights exercised by Taufik Bilfaqih as the reporter, who was also accompanied by Andi Azwan, Chairman of Jokman Nusantara Bersatu.
"I will respond, but there will be consequences. I will report back if it's not proven," Rismon said when met in front of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate on Friday (February 13, 2026).
Rismon considered this report a distraction from his all-out attack on Gibran Rakabuming Raka's lack of a high school diploma. "It was to paralyze my psychological strength, so I was certain that this was the person. I believe these people were used to increase their bargaining power so that I would resign. I will not resign," he said.
Therefore, Rismon emphasized that he was not the slightest bit worried about facing the report as long as it was handled properly. "Don't let their reports, especially since this is the number of times this has been reported to our team, some to Mr. Roy, others. Therefore, this is to weaken our vitality. So we will not be distracted, we will continue to attack," he concluded.
Previously, Taufik, as the reporting party, stated that this report was based on his personal analysis of his investigation into Rismon's use of fake certificates or diplomas. "And I have been monitoring this since last year, but we are only now able to report it, considering that the reported person's actions have become so widespread and have subsequently appeared in the public sphere," Taufik said.
He also claimed to have received information from the Yamaguchi University in Japan that Rismon's identity card or diploma was never issued by the university. "Of course, there are many facts and pieces of evidence that we will uncover during the further investigation process, and now we are grateful that the police have finally accepted our report," he said.
