The Riot Story Not in the Headlines Today
The summer riots continues to hit the headlines, and today's story is of the wife of a Tory councillor admitting her guilt for inciting violence online. But there was another story: of community leaders in Southport coming together to emphasise their unity. This is not hitting the headlines. Part of the reason why our views of politics are badly skewed is we reward the news for emphasising divisive issues and almost never ones of peace and unity.
