Uh oh. A Sonic Forces mod video on my channel. Hell has frozen over and Half Life 3 is just about to be announced. Okay not really, but this is a pretty decent stage mod for Sonic Forces.
I haven't touched Sonic Forces in almost 2 years, ignoring almost all mods that came in that time span. And now I remembered why, the controls are abysmal. If it's not automated half the time, it's the general movement and inconsistent acceleration and air control that will throw you off, not to mention 8 way axis movement that really screws you over when trying to move at high speed.
For as much as I like to make fun of some Sonic Infinity Engine fangames, they at least felt good to control despite the rather exploitable physics. Game feel really matters a lot, something all previous boost games had over Forces (yes, even Colors for as much criticism that it has got lately) Not even a supposed physics fix for Modern Sonic can seem to actually fix the control.
