Racism and Resolution
Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery, Co-founder and President Emeritus of the SCLC shares a story of racism from his youth, and the resolution that came years later. He said, "I was coming out of a place called The Sweet Shop that was run by my father ... when this big police officer was about one third in and punched me in the belly with his nightstick and said 'Get back ... dont you see a white man coming '"
