Saving More Than Just Souls: Bee Rescue at Dover HOPE
🐝👷♂️ Join us at Bohemia Bees for an extraordinary bee rescue mission in a repurposed church, now a beacon of hope called Dover HOPE Commision in Dover, DE. This old church, transformed into a shelter and home for rehabilitated individuals, faced a buzzing dilemma – a honey bee colony nestled deep in the ceiling of the third floor!
In this video, we take you through the challenging and intricate process of locating and safely removing the hidden bee colony. Due to the complexity of the removal, located high up and tucked away, we had to "Phone a Friend" (@628DirtRooster) to figure out a quick fix for our Everything BeeVac when the battery died unexpectedly. 🛠️🔋
Watch as we carefully extract and relocate these vital pollinators back to their new home at Bohemia Apiary on the eastern shore of Maryland, where they're now thriving. The building owner, committed to #savethebees, aimed to provide these bees with the same HOPE they offer to the community around them.
