Went to spectate my first STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) competition last Saturday in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. The Northeast STOL Series puts on three events a summer. I just found out about it, so I had to go take a look! I’ve been obsessed with these planes and this type of flying since I was very young. Super Cubs flying low and slow are a thing of beauty, but Cub Crafters' Carbon Cubs are on a whole other level! There’s some serious money into some of these planes!
This is just raw footage of some of the takeoffs and landings of varying planes. I didn't get everyone as I didn't come planning to film. But if you're into flying (especially STOL or bush type flying) you'll enjoy a little taste of Maine's STOL flying community.
