Ford Focus RS Goes Rallycrossing - Rallyist Laps Ep.8
Finally had the chance to put another Rallyist Laps video out there! For this episode, I'm back at Canaan Motor Club in Canaan, NH for the NER SCCA Joker Lap Rallycross. This is my fourth year at the event, and two years ago I won 2WD in my Volkswagen Golf MK3 (see other Rallyist Laps episodes to watch all three previous years). So taking the overall win has been on my mind for a whiles. We knew that the Ford Focus RS was possibly the best platform to win in, since that model car won the last three years in a row. Luckily, my friend Ben Spatafora was nice enough to let me double drive his. We showed up to Canaan with two amazing Fords, the RS and a 1981 Ford F250 camper (our hotel for the weekend). The RS is a total computer when it comes to tight rallycross/autocross style turns. The grip is unmatched, and if you can keep the momentum, it absolutely will run circles around a Subaru STI on a course like this. Ben and I took the two top spots at the end of the day, with me edging him out by a few seconds to take the win! What a fun weekend!
