Ahh gotta love this time of year. Scorching sun. Beautiful beaches, Chirping cicadas. Flesh eating zombies. Wait no, not that! Dead Island is such an odd series. When it comes to discussions about it, usually it’s not about the game’s individual merits, but things surrounding it.
Like the beautiful trailer of a poor family being killed by zombies. The controversy of Riptide’s collector’s edition that offered a plastic human torso. Not gonna lie, I low key would buy that. Or the fact that the game’s sequel is the current poster boy for development hell and potential vaporware. But the original Dead Island game doesn’t really get talked about much these days.
Is it a hidden gem overshadowed by more recent zombie games? Or a forgettable lackluster experience? Well, let’s find out.
