NOTES:
Don Schlitz has written not only some of my favorite songs, but he's written some of the best songs ever penned. I jumped at the opportunity to write with him and this beautiful, simple song is the result. I always find that the hardest and best songs are the ones that are the least complicated.
I showed up to Don's house one morning a little while back and about 10 minutes into meeting him he said "I have this idea for a song called faith in leaping... does that mean anything to you?" It didn't.
So we moved on to writing down a few other paths for a couple of hours until I stopped and said "did you say faith in leaping?" He smiled and nodded. It sunk in. I understood it when he said it but I had other things on my mind and it would take me two hours to realize those other things were actually "Faith in Leaping."
We wrote the song in 20 minutes.

Lyrics:
SO WERE SCARED, IT'S OKAY
ALL THE BEST THINGS START OUT THAT WAY
LOOK AT ME, TAKE MY HAND
SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO JUMP TO MAKE A STAND
I HAVE FAITH...IN LEAPING
THROWING OUT...WHAT AIN'T WORTH KEEPING
SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO WANT WHAT I'M NEEDING
I HAVE FAITH...IN LEAPING
I HAVE FAITH...IN LEAPING
IT WORKS JUST LIKE MAGIC
THINKING WE KNOW HOW IT WORKS IS TRAGIC
LOOK AT US, WE'RE LIVING PROOF
ALL THE LIES ON EARTH CAN'T HIDE THE TRUTH
I HAVE FAITH...IN LEAPING
THROWING OUT...WHAT AIN'T WORTH KEEPING
SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO WANT WHAT I'M NEEDING
I HAVE FAITH...IN LEAPING
I HAVE FAITH...IN LEAPING
