Visit to Colorado Springs Sawmill
Sterling Davis was going to be in town and I was thinking maybe it would be fun to get together with Mitchell Dillman who is in Colorado Springs. This is about an hour drive for me and I have been meaning to get up to check out his operation anyhow. I was looking forward to this for some time and when it all worked out I was so excited to spend some time with my fellow youtube friends. I could not have been more pleased they are both wonderful people and I could not have had more fun! While I have had wood milled before I never tire of watching the mill. SO much fun. The furniture and things Mitchell makes is simple awesome. The beautiful beetle kill pine that is being used in his operation is beautiful. There was a fire several years ago. (Hayman Fire). It is great to see that wood being used!
The two tables he was finishing up the day we were there were absolutely amazing!
Sterling is such a great guy and his bringing the Bronco clock to me was fun and he is so humble and gracious. It was a friendly little bet and honestly I was not all that sure I was going to be the one receiving the project and not making it!
I truly could have hung out with these guys all day and goofed around doing different things! It was a great time together and I hope we have occasion to do stuff like this again!
