Google stands for ?
Google began as a research project in January 1996 by Ph.D. students Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The name “Googol” which was supposed to be the name of the search engine is the mathematical term for “a 1 followed by 100 zeros”. Googles use of the term reflects their mission to organize the worlds immense (seemingly infinite) amount of information and make it universally accessible and useful. BackRub was the working name before Google was decided on.
