ALPE CAMAGGIORE, the pearl of Muggiasca
On this excursion, I'll take you to admire the beautiful Alpe di Camaggiore, known as "the pearl of Muggiasca."
The alp is located on a plateau at about 1,200 meters and offers spectacular views: Legnone to the north, Monte Croce di Muggio to the southeast, Lake Como to the west, and the Monte Rosa mountain range in the distance.
The hike is simple and not very strenuous. It starts at about 950 meters from the hamlet of Sanico, just above Vendrogno (LC), and continues along a beautiful trail until reaching the Oratory of San Grato, where we can already see a beautiful view. From there, we continue to the small group of "Busè" huts, a very well-kept cluster of houses also with a beautiful view of the lake. After leaving it behind, a beautiful conifer forest will accompany us until we reach the village of Camaggiore... there, we can also stop at the "Ragno" refuge/restaurant for a bite to eat and then continue for about 15 minutes until reaching Alpe Camaggiore at about 1,200 meters.
The hike is suitable for adults and children and will last about 1.45-2 hours uphill and 1.15-1.5 hours downhill.
