Welcome to another episode of the Inner Guide Q&A program.
In today’s video, we explore a powerful life lesson: how to face criticism wisely and peacefully.
Criticism is something every human experiences. No matter what you say or do,
some people will criticize you because they see you through their own perceptions—not who you truly are.
This often causes mental sorrow and emotional pain, making us feel discouraged or defeated.
But the great teachers have shown us a better way.
Drawing from the profound teachings of Arahant Sariputta, we learn that there are two essential qualities needed to face criticism successfully:
✨ 1. Truthfulness
When someone blames or accuses you for a mistake that you genuinely made, accept it with honesty and humility.
Admitting your mistakes builds trust and frees you from the burden of maintaining lies.
And if you are accused wrongly, remain truthful as well—state your innocence calmly and let go of the need to prove yourself repeatedly.
✨ 2. Loving-Kindness & Non-Hatred
Do not respond to criticism with anger or hatred. Whether the accusation is true or false, maintain kindness in your heart.
If you’re at fault, accept it gently. If they misunderstand you, forgive them.
Forgiveness frees your heart, keeps you peaceful, and protects your mind from negativity.
In this episode, we dive deeper into these teachings and learn how to apply them in everyday life so we can face criticism with wisdom,
calmness, and inner strength.
