This is a tutorial for Ableton Live 11. It is presented by Lorne Bregitzer, an Associate Professor for the University of Colorado Denver and an Ableton Certified Trainer.
This is designed for musicians just starting with Ableton Live. It is created to get people up and running and making music as quickly as possible. This is an alternative to books that are poorly written or do not present a logical workflow.
In this video, we learn how to automate parameters in Session View. This allows you to automate almost every parameter in a Clip. You can draw in the parameter or you can also record them as an automation overdub. You can also automate parameters in the mixer as well. This will allow you to dynamically adjust the panning of a track or adjust the volume. These parameters can also be adjusted by automating the Utility Device. This allows you to maintain overall control of the volume and balance in the mixer.
These videos include a Tour of Ableton Live, Clips & Scenes and many other topics. This series is free and developed to supplement my university electronic music courses.
