The Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society and Beck Archives at the University of Denver work to educate the public about the history of Jewish life in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West. We sponsor lectures, exhibits, digital resources, travel programs, and research opportunities to promote a richer understanding of the Jewish experience in our region.
"Citizens of the State: Colorado's Early Jewish Politicians" was written and directed by former RMJHS director Dr. Jeanne Abrams, with video production by Starwest Productions. It was created for the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society's Annual Heritage Award Dinner in 2007.
Among the individuals interviewed and featured in the film are former Councilwoman and state senator Joyce Foster, along with Don Freeman, a former Colorado state representative, and Dr. Edward Cohen.
