Film Screening and Discussion with Director Oren Rudavsky

SUNDAY, JANUARY 25, 2026 | 6:30 pm
MACC Elaine Wolf Theatre | 350 S Dahlia St

Award-winning director Oren Rudavsky in discussion with Colorado State Senator Dafna Michaelson Jenet about his acclaimed documentary.

Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire explores the life and legacy of Holocaust survivor, writer, teacher, public figure, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel, whose dedication as an educator and activist modeled our responsibility to remember the past and to fight for a better future. Examining Wiesel’s enduring moral stature, Soul on Fire serves as a call to conscience for a new generation grappling with the resurgence of global antisemitism.

The Center for Judaic Studies inaugurated its Holocaust Awareness Institute (HAI) following Wiesel’s first appearance at DU in 1983. Today, HAI remains a cornerstone of the Center’s initiatives and continues to draw inspiration for its pioneering commemorative and educational work from the life and legacy of Elie Wiesel. Now in its 23rd year, the annual Marcus Lecture highlights new scholarship and perspectives on the Holocaust and illuminates its continuing significance today.
