There Will Never Be Another Battlefield 1.
Battlefield 1 has by far one of the most cinematic games I have played. Despite its lack of care for realism, it places you at the frontlines to experience the great war first hand; the screams, the agony, you are there to either win the match, or join those in the mud. Its quite cinematic, yet quite somber and sad. It makes you question the great war. Battlefield has has you dive into the gritty realism of World War I through stunning visuals and immersive sound design.
Some say the BF1 is realistic, some say it makes you hate war, some even have the gall to call it an awesome masterpiece.
It may well be, but if you ask me, I hate tank players and those who sit with telescopic LMG's at the back of the map.
This video essay poorly attempts to explore the atmosphere of battlefield 1, with subtle jokes, references to other pieces of media and insights into the development of the game. I hope you enjoy it, I am not a fan of audio mixing, if I could pay someone to do it for me I would do so.
