Good News and Bad News
The good news is the capes and masks finally arrived. If you bought a child pass for Las Cruces Comic Con 2024, you can come to Zia Comics to claim your cape/mask.
Now, the bad news. The Las Cruces Convention Center has refused to fix lighting issues that we have brought up for the past few years. This year the house PA system stopped working so it was difficult to make timely event announcements. The venue was NOT set up and ready for load-in. A lot of booths were not set up, tables were not dressed, and chairs were not in booths. Also, we have never, ever in the history of doing events paid for load-in day. Well, Las Cruces charged us and did not address any of the venue shortcomings or their lack of preparedness.
When we expressed our displeasure, they basically shrugged their shoulders. For those reasons we cancelled our dates with them for 2025. We are currently searching for a different venue that will be suitable to host Las Cruces Comic Con. If we are unable to find one, LC3 will have to be mothballed.
You can let the convention center, ASM Global venue management, and the city of Las Cruces know you would like to see these issues addressed accordingly.
