25 years ago, in July 1995, Sari Madjid organized a kite adventure in Indonesia. It was a tour over two weeks with kite festivals in six locations to celebrate 50 years of Indonesian independence.

(Bali was originally on the list but that kite festival was postponed)
This tour was my first trip to Indonesia or even Asia, and I could never then imagine that I 25 years late would be living in Indonesia, even if that thought actually was aired by a fellow traveller when we made an overnight stop in Bandung.
I have now edited the digitalized Hi8 tapes that I recorded into a ’documentary’. Unfortunately the recording from Yogyakarta has been lost, but otherwise the full tour is covered.
To make it more digestible I have split the movie into 6 parts, and though it is maybe most interesting to those who participated, there is something also of general kite interest:
