Fawn Eating At The Bait
First year bow hunting, this little fawn comes out starts eating, I raise my new Excalibur Mag 340, got her in my sights, she looks up at me, and that was it. I couldn't shoot her, we had the tags so legally I could have shot, but I just couldn't do it. This is footage from 3 days in a row of her coming in and eating all she wanted before leaving. But do you see how she is extremely nervous, constantly looking around, doesn't eat for more then a few seconds before taking a look around. I am pretty sure she knew I was there but couldn't pin point my exact location. I hunt for meat not to kill, I love nature, and to be able to experience this and let her walk away proves just that. We tagged out this year, we got meat in the freezer, and we are ready for another successful year this year. I have encountered foxes, coyotes, wolves, bears, owls, had some cool encounters with squirrels as well. I've watched trees fall randomly with no wind and nothing touching them at the ground. Mother nature is full of surprises, she can be beautiful, she can be scary, she can be cold and she can be ugly, but in the end she is never light on surprises.
