This is NOT the definitive guide to FM synthesis. I do not use specific terminology in this video either. We will be talking a lot more about FM synthesis later on in this section. What I want to show you is a very crude example of how FM works and why it is very relevant and useful for us in the E-Hat Synth. After watching this video I would encourage you take a quick look at the wikipedia page for more specifics (and also review my video on harmonics). When we get into the FM4 we will really dive deep into FM (and start using terminology like carrier, modulator, operator, etc) but hopefully this video serves as a nice teaser.
