Tools/Supplies Needed:
-194 bulb
-small standard screwdriver
-contact cleaner
-clean rag
Procedure:
As you can see both are not working currently. The one on the right was working previously and most likely has a bad connection. After tapping it, it is now working.
We will start with an inspection. Use a small screwdriver to gently pry the lens out from the sides. It’s held with two clips.
The bulb can then be removed, it simply pulls straight out. I did notice some corrosion on the connector. I used some contact cleaner to clean the connection and the bulb.
I also went ahead and cleaned the lens with a toothbrush to remove any debris on the inside which may impede the light's output.
Align the new bulb and push it into the connection.
Now push the lens back into place.
Moving onto the opposite side, again was removed the lens with a standard screwdriver from the sides.
Pull out the old bulb.
Contact cleaner was used to clean the connection as preventative maintenance.
Install the new bulb.
As you can see the old lenses were quite dirty and would reduce the performance of the light output, therefore this one was clean as well.
The small drain hole should be facing towards the back of the vehicle.
Now is another test ensuring the light is working correctly.
Again I was having problems with the original light not working correctly. Upon further inspection I did find that the terminal did break off the bulb, therefore it needed a new replacement.
Test both lights to ensure they are working correctly and then you are officially done.
