History of the "Trials" series
The first game, Trials, was released in 2000 as a Java game that could be played in a browser. It was born from the question: "How can we make the most of a great 2D physics engine? Trials was one of the most popular online games of the early 21st century, with between 20 and 30 million unique users. Redrynx, the developers of the game, have been influenced by a number of games, including Excitebike for the NES, as well as the real Trials, which have been used in the growth of the series ever since. Some of these games are still available to play in your browser, so you can get a taste of those early games that made history.

Trials HD was released on the Xbox LIVE Arcade in 2009 with the same basic system and feel, but with new 3D graphics. The behaviour of the bikes, the heart of the gameplay, was tested hundreds of times over a period of about six months, with thousands of parameters to be adjusted. The game was released on Xbox LIVE Arcade in August 2009, selling over 300,000 copies in just over a month, and within a year it had successfully broken the one million mark. Eurogamer gave it a score of 9/10, saying: "A brilliantly designed, affordable game that will be the best XBLA title of the year. Eurogamer gave it a score of 9/10. The game has also been voted the best downloadable game by Xbox LIVE users, the best Finnish game and the best Nordic game.

Announced at E3 in 2011 and released in April 2012, Trials Evolution features a new outdoor environment, replacing the warehouse motif of its predecessor. Metacritic gave the game a score of 90, showing that it was a legitimate evolution from its predecessor. The game has evolved legitimately from its predecessor and offers a lot more to satisfy players. The game broke the Xbox LIVE Arcade daily sales record, reaching 500,000 players in one month.

On the PC, Trials Legends, a bundle of the Trials series released between 2000 and 2005, was made available free of charge and featured 33 classic tracks with six different bike models and a course editor. Later in 2013, Trials Evolution came to the PC with Trials Evolution - Gold Edition, which included content from Trials HD, bringing the new Xbox 360 hit series to the PC.

Trials Evolution - Gold Edition is available for the PC and includes all of the content from the original Trials Evolution, as well as a number of new courses created by players from around the world. Starting with Trials Evolution, the game supports public sharing as well as friend-to-friend sharing, making it incredibly easy to create new courses. From elaborate and challenging courses to FPS-style shooters and ball-rolling games, Trials Evolution gives you the freedom to go beyond the confines of a motorbike game day and night, with so much content that it's hard to play it all.

Trials GO is a free-to-play game for iOS and Android, with a narrative that is unlike anything seen before in the series. It's a new direction for the series, with the ability to collect parts to develop and upgrade new bikes, while still retaining the thrill of controlling the weight of the physics-based bikes in a rugged track environment. Free to play, it's a great introduction to the Trials series.

Trials Evolution is the follow-up to the classic Trials series, which enthralled gamers everywhere with its easy to use and challenging gameplay. Following in the footsteps of the definitive Trials Evolution comes Trials Fusion, a futuristic-themed game that is now available for the next generation PlayStation 4. Already a critically-acclaimed title, Trials Fusion offers endless possibilities for fun, thanks to its enhanced course editing mode. The Trials series is set to take off on a new platform in 2014, so get on your bikes and dive into the depths of this fascinating series.
