Gauteng | School safety in the spotlight
The Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane says 245 schools in Gauteng have been identified as high risk for learners when it comes to safety and security. This emerged at the School Safety Imbizo at St Ives Primary School in Kliptown, in the south of Johannesburg. The Imbizo brought together parents, School Governing Bodies and civil rights groups to address critical safety issues, to create a safer learning environment.
