Plugin Alliance Console Comparison
Quick comparison of 4 Plugin Alliance channel strip plugins on 4 different source recordings (kick drum, snare drum, drum overhead, and acoustic guitar). All raw and processed recordings were level matched based on peak values. There is no other processing aside from the channel strips.
I quickly ran through each plugin, finding the sound that seemed best (to me) from it. As such, many settings differ between them. I did use a ratio of 4.0:1 on all channel strips (except for bx_console Focusrite SC, which does not have 4:1 so I used 3:1) for consistency. Also, I turned off V Gain and set THD to max on each plugin. Lastly, I used default channels 1/2 for each plugin. The picture for each section is of the plugin settings used for that section.
The purpose of this is just to give the listener an idea of how each plugin sounds different from the others. It is nothing more than a general guide.
