Channel Strip Plugin Shoot Out - Kick Drum
Quick shoot out of 4 different channel strip plugins:
Waves SSL Channel
Brainworx bx_Console
Nomad Factory Analog Studio Rack
Slate Virtual Mix Rack
For each plugin, the same raw file was used. As not each plugin has the same module types available, I only used the EQ and compressor modules within each plugin (all had those).
To be fair to the Nomad Factory plugin, this put it at a bit of a disadvantage since much of its mojo comes from its exciter module. Still, its EQ/compressor are what they are.
All levels were matched with each plugin peaking at -.3 dB.
I did not match EQ & compressor moves in the different plugins, rather I made whatever moves that provided the best possible sound from each.
