Esra Babakaya may be the coolest guy, but even she sometimes needs two takes in front of the camera. 🤣 But this video isn't just about funny mishaps like these; you'll also find important statements and beautiful moments from the last three months of production. 💜
2020 has already shaped us: Together with you and our amazing guests, we've learned so much and been able to experience diverse perspectives:
🖤 The director of Skylines, Soleen Yusef, revealed to us that her brothers aren't like the Muslim men portrayed in the series. Hassan Akkouch, on the other hand, sees his work as an actor on 4 Blocks as a role model for all those who have otherwise only seen themselves represented as athletes or vegetable vendors.
🖤 Author Fabienne Sand showed us why it can be problematic when white people want to appropriate "Blackness" and why we should always consider the history and lived realities of marginalized people. Many of you responded in the comments that everyone should dress as they want.
🖤 Psychologist Stephanie Cuff-Schöttle gave us insight into the difficult path to obtaining this title. She explained how the system makes this path particularly difficult for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in Germany. Blogger Devin Detin reported on his discriminatory experiences during psychological treatment with a white psychologist.
🖤 Fat empowerment activist Christelle Nkwendja-Ngnoubamdjum revealed to us where the body positivity movement originated. Primary school teacher and blogger Gelavije Zakeri is a shining example for all of us when it comes to questioning our own positions and listening to those affected.
