At the core of the Lamborghini Temerario is a powerful 4.0-liter V-8 engine, featuring twin turbochargers arranged in a hot-vee configuration. This design places the turbos within the V shape of the engine's cylinder banks, optimizing performance. The V-8 itself churns out an impressive 789 horsepower, achieved between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm, with a torque output of 538 pound-feet from 4,000 to 7,000 rpm. Notably, this engine can rev up to 10,000 rpm, with the turbochargers providing a boost pressure of 36.3 psi. Lamborghini has incorporated a flat-plane crankshaft and titanium connecting rods, which help reduce rotating mass, drawing on expertise from their motorsport ventures.

Power from the V-8 is transmitted through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is mounted transversely behind the engine. Lamborghini engineers managed to reduce the gearbox's weight by designing an additional hollow shaft, allowing the same synchronizers to handle different gear torque paths. As a result, this gearbox is lighter than the seven-speed unit found in the Huracán, while also delivering quicker gear changes.

The Temerario doesn't rely solely on its V-8 for power. It also features three electric motors, pushing the car's total output to 907 horsepower. Two of these motors, each contributing 148 horsepower, are oil-cooled and drive the front axle, enabling all-wheel drive when necessary. The entire front motor system weighs just 161 pounds and can also power the car in full electric mode. Lamborghini asserts that this setup results in 50% lower CO2 emissions compared to the Huracán. The third electric motor is positioned between the V-8 and the gearbox, filling in torque gaps to smooth out gear shifts, reduce turbo lag, and enhance acceleration from a standstill. Additionally, this motor serves as both a starter and a generator.

The electric motors draw power from a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. Lamborghini strategically placed the battery in the central tunnel, maintaining an optimal weight distribution and a low center of gravity. An onboard charger can fully charge the battery in 30 minutes at up to 7 kW, or the battery can be recharged through regenerative braking or by the combustion engine.

Lamborghini claims the Temerario can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 213 mph. The front electric motors enable precise torque vectoring, which enhances agility in tight corners and stability at high speeds. The torque vectoring system primarily uses the e-motors, with brake intervention only when absolutely necessary, ensuring more natural driving dynamics.

The Temerario offers a selection of driving modes, including Città, Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Corsa Plus, as well as three settings for the electric motors: Recharge, Hybrid, and Performance. For those looking for some extra excitement, there's also a Drift mode, which allows for controlled oversteer with three levels of adjustment.
