KTM Ekspres Rakyat Timuran is a long-distance overnight express train service in Peninsular Malaysia operated by KTM Berhad. This sleeper train service runs between Tumpat in Kelantan, near the Thailand border, and JB Sentral in Johor Bahru, near the Singapore border.
The KTM Ekspres Rakyat Timuran is known for traversing the scenic, rural landscapes along the East Coast Line, which is sometimes known as the Jungle Railway, passing through smaller towns and rural areas, on the way to Kelantan, which borders Thailand.
Passengers can enjoy views of lush jungles, mountains, rivers, and traditional villages along the route. The KTM Ekspres Rakyat Timuran offers a unique travel experience, and the last of its kind as Malaysia's last scheduled overnight sleeper train.
