In the video coming out on Sunday, July 2, 2023, we'll analyze the attenuator used to test the FM transmitter kit seen in video 847 (   • 0847: TRASMETTITORE FM 88-108 MHz in KIT  ). We'll analyze the reasons why the attenuation measured with a spectrum analyzer is over 20 dB instead of 10 dB, as it should be according to Pi filter theory. We'll then build a version of the attenuator that guarantees 10 dB over a wide frequency band and perform measurements to certify the S21, S11, and S22 scattering parameters using the nano VNA instrument.
