Welcome to the special feature on the sinking of the Bayesian, one of the most luxurious and cutting-edge sailing yachts, which unfortunately became famous for sinking on August 19th of this year off the coast of Palermo, in front of the municipality of Ponticello.
My editorial team and I decided to investigate, as we have done with other cases, such as that of Yara Gambirasio, to shed light on the matter, especially after the many inaccuracies spread in newspapers, on television, and especially on the internet. This is to answer the fundamental question: what really happened that night? How much nonsense have the media fed us?
