HTML for beginners 14: HTML comments
Hi there and welcome! 😊 In this video, we will explain to you what are HTML comments.
HTML comments are HTML elements that are visible only inside of your code. ( not visible in web page in web browser! )
In case if you don't know already, web page is set of HTML elements that you write inside of your HTML document. Your web browser ( Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge etc. ) converts HTML elements and displays it inside of web page like various buttons, links, images etc.
HTML comments are type of HTML elements that web browser will not display at all inside of web page! So, you can write anything like comment inside of your HTML code, and that content will be visible only inside of your code and not inside of your web page.
Why to use HTML comments if these are not visible inside of your web page?
Well comments are very useful to place some reminders inside of your code, what has been done, or what should be done.
Also, comments are useful for problem solving or debugging, because you can comment out line per line of code (system of elimination) until you find line of code that makes error in your code.
In HTML there are two types of comments:
1. One line comments - comments out one line of code
2. Multiline comments - comments out two or more lines of code
