Space Elevator - Innuendo - A Tribute to Queen (Trailer)
"Innuendo" was pieced together "like a jigsaw puzzle". The recurring theme (with the Boléro-esque beat) started off as a jam session between May, Deacon and Taylor. Mercury then added the melody and some of the lyric later. The middle section was primarily Mercury's work, it features a flamenco guitar solo, followed by a classically influenced bridge, and a rockband final. Ian Gittins, writing for Melody Maker, considered the song to be "Bohemian Rhapsody" Vol II and described it as "seductively monstrous". He added, "All ill-starred vocal operatics, hairy-palmed guitar runs and portentous drivel, it even breaks into Spanish rhumba at one sublime point."
Now SPACE ELEVATOR presents a brand new version of this masterpiece for the upcoming album "A Tribute to Queen".
Space Elevator was formed by guitarist David Young and flamboyant lead singer The Duchess. The lineup is completed by Brian Greene – Drums, Chas Maguire – Bass and Michael Bramwell – Keys. The band have released three highly acclaimed rock albums and are currently writing and recording their fourth with legendary British songwriter Russ Ballard.
Band members have worked with Brian May, Thunder, Richie Sambora and Steve Vai to name a few.
