In this Project Spotlight we feature a computer-controlled gantry crane built by Philip Drew, who is a member of the Runnymede Meccano Guild.
Philip's crane includes four motors, three potentiometers and a microswitch, all of which are controlled via an Arduino Uno, two L298 H bridge modules and the MECControl software running on a Windows 10 notebook PC.
You can download the software and the FREE Arduino/Genuino Uno firmware from https://meccontrol.com, where we also have a range of electronic components that you can use with MECControl. Each one comes pre-wired with leads so that you can start using it right away. Just plug it into your Arduino/Genuino Uno — no soldering required!
