Loop expression in Adobe After Effects - how it was made
For this video, I've captured the screen of my computer. The idea was to have a clock, and its dials to rotate as if time is passing really fast, but have that loop with expressions. I first found an image on the internet of a watch. Then I imported it into Photoshop. What I did next, I'm showing in this video. I first calculated that the the hour hand should have one revolution in 10 seconds. I then multiplied the one revolution by 12, so while the hour hand has one revolution, the minute has 12. So I made the selections in Photoshop, imported the psd file into After Effects as a composition. Using four keyframes, I animated both the hour hand and the minute hand, and the expressions I added were used to loop the animation for as long as I want it. I can make the composition hours long now, without the need to add any new keyframes, in order for the animation to work.
