Cell reference in excel, Relative and Absolute reference | Video #2
This video will help you understand the two types of cell references in excel. The default cell reference which is called as Relative cell reference and the other is Absolute cell reference
1. Relative cell reference: This is the default cell reference in excel, the relative cell reference is used when you want your formula to change as you change the cells. Most of the time, the relative cell reference is unknowingly used.
2. Absolute cell reference: In this cell reference, a particular cell or group of cells are frozen by putting a dollar sign in front of column (alphabet) and row (number), this freezing of the cells is termed as absolute and the reference is called absolute reference. This will restrict the movement of the cell when we drag or copy to the other cells
Knowing absolute reference will help you to avoid various error in the formulas.
