Brexit is real. On the 31st of January, the United Kingdom (UK) formally left the European Union (EU). The next phase was an 11-month transitional period to negotiate a new relationship with the EU—a trade deal—in particular. Today, 30 June 2020, is the deadline for negotiations, so it may be a hard Brexit on 31 December 2020.
Meanwhile, in the United States (US), President Trump has said he wants a US-UK trade agreement implemented by the end of the year. Is this still possible when the world is battling COVID-19?
