The United Kingdom (UK) and the European Union (EU) have officially parted ways on 31 January 2020. Negotiating a trade deal with significant implications for companies that do business in EU member states, during the transition period, and soon-to-be-former member states.
Today, 30 June 2020, is the deadline for negotiations. If no agreement is reached, the UK will be facing a hard Brexit on 31 December 2020. After a challenging year, due to COVID-19—landing on WTO trade rules could present even more challenges for the UK.
