In this video, I will be giving you an overview of product and price books.

Products are a list of tangible or intangible items offered by the company.

Price Books are a list of products with their prices.

There are 2 types of Price books: Standard and Custom

The Standard Price Book is a default price book that comes pre-installed with Salesforce

Custom Price Books are additional price books that you can create to manage products and prices in different currencies, regions, or scenarios.

Standard price: Default price associated with products.
List price: are custom prices associated with products (ex. Domestic or international prices)
Sales Price: are customizable prices that users define for products that are added to opportunities or quotes. Either they can be the same as list prices or modified prices.

There are instances where you may have to perform certain operations in classic view, like cloning a price book or archiving a price book.

NOTE: Be careful when performing actions like this. Always do your due diligence to ensure it is safe to delete or archive. Otherwise, deactivate it for safety purposes.

For best practices review the object relationships between opportunity, opportunity product, product, price book entry, and price book.
