On May 7, 2016, Wray, Colorado, witnessed a rare and powerful EF-2 tornado, with winds up to 130 mph. This impressive supercell storm showcased textbook structure, offering a unique glimpse into its inner workings due to its low precipitation nature. The tornado, which narrowly missed the town of Wray, traveled 8 miles with a maximum width of 440 yards, causing damage to three residences and two businesses. The event highlighted the unusual combination of high moisture content in Eastern Colorado, resembling more typical central Plains storms, making it a notable study for meteorologists.
