This stunning footage takes you on an exclusive FPV drone flight of HS2's Old Oak Common station box, 20 metres below ground in west London.

Watch the latest construction update:    • HS2’s Old Oak Common station box excavatio...

Construction of the new super-hub station has now moved into a new phase, after excavation of the huge underground box structure was completed in July 2024.

The excavation has taken three years and was completed section by section within the box, starting from the west and the east of the structure and meeting in the middle.

The vast underground box has a 1.12 mile fibre-reinforced concrete diaphragm wall around it, and 1.3million tonnes of London Clay has been removed from inside – enough to fill over 300 Olympic sized swimming pools.

Enjoy this unique FPV experience of flying through the huge box structure as engineers begin the next phase of construction 20 metres below ground, where six dedicated high speed platforms will be built, as well as the station building itself.
