Story: After a two hour layover in Charlotte, I boarded this A321 for a three hour flight to San Juan, where I was leaving on a cruise the following day. The best part of the flight was the free wifi for the first half (until we were out of range and over the Atlantic) The worst part was the rapid descent.
After a three and a half hour flight from CLT, we descend over the Atlantic into San Juan. When we were about ~100 miles off the coast of Arecibo, PR the pilot started to really descend. We dropped from 34,000 feet to about 10,000 in less than 5 minutes.
Never felt so dizzy before on a plane. My ears were clogged up by the time we came ashore near Old San Juan and I could no longer hold the camera steady. During final approach it looked like the entire plane was spinning. You can even hear me complain about this in the video, so I apologize for the unsteady camera work as I felt like I was dying. Anyways here is the approach and landing into SJU.
