Marlene P. Freeman, MD discusses the range of mood and anxiety disorders associated with the postpartum that clinicians should be considering, including postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and OCD. She calls postpartum blues a normal condition; about 80% of women will suffer from some transient mild sadness or low mood. Dr Freeman also shares several postpartum resources that are valuable for both clinicians or patients and caregivers.
