Abstract:
Cellular automata were first studied in the 1940's by John von Neumann and Stanislaw Ulam, but they have had a recent boom due to its connections with group theory, topology, and symbolic dynamics. In this talk, we shall discuss the definition of cellular automata over groups and some of the most relevant recent results.
