Homemade Alaskan Chicken Brooder
I made this cheap chicken brooder out of a rubbermaid tote, scrap wood, 1/4" hardware cloth and some cardboard. For heat I used a 100 watt heat bulb in the hanging light. It keeps the chicks nice and warm and I can reduce the heat 5 deg per week as they grow by lifting the light. Right now I have 7 chicks in it. 3 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 3 Partridge Rocks and one Araucana.
